Early Morning Care is available throughout the year to students ages 3 to 12. Students may arrive as early as 7:30 a.m. Students from the 3-6 level will go to their classrooms during Early Morning Care, while students from 6-9 & 9-12 will go to the 6-9 After School room for Early Morning Care. Students ages 12-14 who arrive to school early are permitted to wait outside the main office.
Parents are also welcome to send their child(ren) to Early Morning Care on an as-needed basis for a daily fee of $6.65.
We now offer a variety of activities from 11:50 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. for students who participate in the half-day program. These classes offer students an opportunity to engage in various studio arts, performing arts and physical education. Children who register for our half-day classes are escorted by the activity instructor to their class, given a healthy snack before class begins, and may be picked-up at the activity location at 12:30 p.m. During Session One, only students ages 4 & 5 may participate in our half-day activities. Children ages 3-5 may participate in half-day activities during Sessions Two & Three.
Our after school programs are divided by levels (3-6, 6-9, and 9 - 14) and are created to provide students with an opportunity to participate in various arts & crafts projects, outdoor and indoor games, cooking, free play, reading, etc. with their friends. A healthy snack is available for students enrolled in this program.
While the program is less structured than the student's Montessori day, it follows the same guidelines and expectations. Each after school program is staffed by many of NNM's classroom assistants, Spanish, gym, and music teachers.
General after school care is available for students who may need childcare before or after an activity. For example, a student may be signed up for a swim class that starts at 4:30 p.m. and need optional after-school from 3:30 - 4:30 p.m.
Parents are also welcome to send their child(ren) to general after school on an as-needed basis for a daily fee of $15.00.
NNM offers a wide variety of after school activities. These activities help students develop their physical and mental skills and build character as they gain the confidence to take on and master new challenges. Activities in academic enrichment, aquatics, language and culture, performing arts, physical education, studio arts, and technology are offered to students; however, not all activities are available at all levels.
All students enrolled in General After School will receive a healthy, peanut and tree nut-free snack upon arrival to the General After School room. In addition, all students in the 3-6 level (including activity students, General After School, and half-day activity students) are provided with a snack.
Children ages 6 and up who are enrolled in 3:30 activities are encouraged to bring a peanut/tree nut-free snack from home, as they are not provided during the activity.
Please remember to park in the lot located on the corner of Division and Cleaver when you are coming to pick up your child(ren) from after school or activities. For your convenience, there is a carpool from 5:15 - 5:30 p.m. for students in the 6-9, 9-12, and 12-14 levels who participate in our general after school program. If your child is in an activity that ends at 4:30 p.m. or at 5:30 p.m., you should pick your child up from the activity location. Children from the 3-6 level return to the after school room promptly if they are not picked up from their activity at 4:30 p.m.
